Swordsman's Guild

The Swordsman's Guild is not the entity described in the canonical 7th Sea books. Instead of being an association of all Swordsmen, Guild members are professional duelists who fight on behalf of those nobles unwilling or unable to fight duels on their behalf. The Guild also serves to help regulate dueling generally, promulgating rules of conduct which the nobility and gentry largely accept. As part of this latter purpose, the Guild actively works against those who would alter the code of dueling, particularly proponents of the Rasmussen pistol school who seek to introduce pistol dueling to Theah.
