Riché is an aggressive variant of Valroux, turning Valroux's playful taunts more into snarls. It is particularly favored by the noblemen of Paroisse who give it its name, swordsmen who are hot of temper and short of stature. Its weakness is in the way it teaches its practitioners to channel their anger into aggressive energy; a well-timed taunt can make a Riche swordsman overextend, leaving an opening.

Country of Origin: Montaigne

Skills: Fencing, Knife

Swordsman Knacks: Double-Parry (Fencing Weapon/Knife), Beat (Fencing Weapon), Lunge (Fencing Weapon), Exploit Weakness (Valroux Group)

  • Apprentice: Riche apprentices, like the Valroux school, learn to fight with a rapier in one hand a main-guache in the other. They take no off-hand penalty for wielding a main-guache and receive a Free Raise to Active Defenses with a knife.
  • Journeyman: Riche journeymen learn to use their rapier to deliver fast, sharp cuts and stabs, channelling the anger inherent in the style into punishing blows. They receive an extra unkept die of damage when using a rapier.
  • Master: The master of Riche learns the first principle of attack: strike first. They channel their energy into swift forward movement, changing one Action Die of their choice to Phase 1 at the start of each round.
